Pastor Cy M. Fields

A Life Dedicated to Ministry, Service, and Community Transformation

Pastor Cy M. Fields is a native Chicagoan who has dedicated over 38 years to ministry and public service. Licensed for ministry in 1987 and ordained in 1996, Pastor Cy was mentored by the late Reverend Dr. Joseph Sylvester. For the past 24 years, he has served as Senior Pastor for New Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in East Garfield Park, Chicago. During his visionary leadership, the church continues to be a spiritual landmark for the greater west-side metropolitan area. Pastor Cy foresees the church expanding its reach and influence throughout the surrounding community and city.

Pastor Cy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology and a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from Illinois State University. He attended Chicago Theological Seminary to further enhance his ministry education. In 2024 The Chicago Pastors Rally presented Pastor Cy with the Excellence in Leadership Award.

Pastor Cy intuitively addresses the needs of the church and community through service. His primary focus is to Help People Win in Life through God's Word, Great Worship, and doing Good Works. For instance, Pastor Cy and many ministries of New Landmark currently address challenging issues like poverty, inter-generational mentoring, social injustice, gun violence & trauma, legal consultation, marriage and family life, health enrichment, youth mentoring, community outreach and development, emergency relief, policy advocacy, community-police relations, civic engagement, and speaking truth to power.

Pastor Cy also commits his time, energy, and resources to serving various local organizations, boards, and campaigns to promote a beloved community. Ultimately, Pastor Cy envisions the growth of believers' faith through the teaching and preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He firmly believes the unadulterated Word of God is the best path towards realizing social justice, economic justice, educational equality, and strengthening of the black family. He attributes his most significant and meaningful accomplishment is the sharing of life, dreams, and the joys as a husband to Yolanda for 24 years and the nurturing of their two daughters, Summer, and Autumn.
